Dedications

We would like to express our gratitude to the individuals and institutions who have contributed to the ongoing development of this website. Specifically, we are thankful for the patients who consented to the use of their photos, videos, and images. We are especially grateful for the individuals who participated in body donation programs so that we may advance the field of female pelvic anatomy.

The SGS Pelvic Anatomy Group has worked with individuals and institutions to ensure that proper consent has been obtained for the use of all content on the website. However, we want to acknowledge the history upon which we build our knowledge, which includes the exploitation of vulnerable communities and the use of human bodies for scientific gain without consent. Furthermore, we seek to address gender-based inequities through this website that focuses on human images instead of illustrations, which are often inaccurate and even imaginary when describing female anatomy. By going back to the human female body to learn pelvic anatomy, we can see it for what it is instead of what we were taught. We can describe female anatomy on its own instead of as a deviation from male anatomy. We can learn new things. Thank you to everyone who makes this website possible.
